4GB ENB compatability

Post by cjb135691 » Fri Dec 21, 2012 5:32 am

Does anybody know of a work around for the 4gb loader and the New Vegas enb file that Blackout and all the other enb mods on the nexus require. I can't get the enb to load with the 4gb, but it works fine using the straight fose launch method.

yes, you just need to use the injector version and in injector.ini add the following to the list of EXEs fnv4gb.exe and  FalloutNV.exe.4gb

Boy, I went all over the place with this today.

I couldn't get anything to work with FNV Enhanced Shaders preview ENB 118...not the regular nvse loader, not the FNV 4gb loader by MonochromeWench (which should have worked), and not adding the exe's to the excpetions list because there is no list in the injector.ini on Tapiok's ENB I listed above (like there is on Boris' standard ENB for FNV v118, the enbinjector.ini). Only the regular launcher would work, which of course was insufficient because of no nvse, etc etc. There were even times when it seemed to work (the ENB info appeared top left as the game loaded) but then in-game, there was no DoF, etc.

What worked was downloading the (old maybe?) fnv4gb_nvse loader off of nvse.silverlock.org site, specifically at this address :

http://nvse.silverlock.org/beta/fnv4gb_nvse.zip

...and not the one they recommend on the front page of the site, as that is MonochromeWench's which didn't work for me.

Hope that might help anyone else.

You can also use the wrapper

Post by KeltecRFB » Sat Mar 15, 2014 10:23 pm

You can also use the wrapper version but you need to do this to your enblocal.ini ...

[MEMORY]

ExpandSystemMemoryX64=false

ReduceSystemMemoryUsage=false

DisableDriverMemoryManager=false

DisablePreloadToVRAM=false

EnableUnsafeMemoryHacks=false

ReservedMemorySizeMb=512

VideoMemorySizeMb=0

EnableCompression=false

What I learn is to let ENB along with the ENB presetting create your enblocal.ini.  So basically I install ENB, install the preset, make sure there is no enblocal.ini in the root directory, activate the game and it automatically adds a working enblocal.ini to the directory.  Then I make the changes I want and I am in business.  Before I was adding the presets or enb's and modifying it which would never work.  Then I started doing the above, and ENB started working.

These are my steps for getting the wrapper working with the latest version of 4gb Enabler.

- 4gb Enabler Updated (Wrapper)

- ENB 249

  1. Extract the 4gb Enabler anywhere you like

  2. Create a new shortcut to it

  3. Right-Click and edit the porperties of your shortcut

  4. Go to target window and paste this into your target window, substituting your info when neccesary (with my exact qoutations, replace my brackets),

    • [Path to your 4gb Enabler]\fnv4gb.exe -exe "[Path to Steam]\Steam\SteamApps\common\Fallout New Vegas\FalloutNV.exe" -laaexe "[Path to Steam]\Steam\SteamApps\common\Fallout New Vegas\FalloutNV4gb.exe"

  5. Now run your shortcut, you should recieve the ENB notifications, and your game will be running in LAA

This works because your exe is in the New Vegas folder, and is now loading the DLL's properly. Hope this helps.

Hey guys, the new 4GB

Hey guys, the new 4GB launcher for NV (the one darthbdaman pointed out) comes with an "exes" folder. You simply want to place the d3d9.dll file for the enb in there, not your NV root directory. This should solve the issue for folks who can run the enb via NVSE but not 4GB launcher. I can't comment in regards to those who can't run it with the NVSE launcher.

I don't think you need to edit your target field.

@darthbdaman

Does your method also run NVSE with the 4GB executable? I got ENB to work with your method but I don't remember how to tell if NVSE is running in-game.

From the  Nvse 4.2 readme.

* I don't think NVSE is working. How can I check?

 - Launch NV, then open the console and type "GetNVSEVersion" (without the quotes). It should print back "NVSE version: 1". If this works, then NVSE is working properly. If it prints an error, then something is wrong. Make sure that all of the nvse DLLs have been copied to the same folder as FalloutNV.exe.

Ah, that sounds familiar now, thanks. Looks like that method does get ENB and NVSE working with the 4GB exe.

...Why not just use one of the various LAA-flag enablers kicking around? Much easier and simpler than this launcher business.
