I think you mean that humanity would no longer be elevated, anymore. If everyone became supermutants. If you know what I mean.

I'm rather content with my lot. Fighting each other for status and material gain gives us lots of great things. My opinion is that people who think that humans can or should 'transcend' their nature want all of the perks without having to work or fight for them. Which of course, would render having those perks meaningless almost immediately. And evolutionarily, life without the pressure to adapt or change signals a dead-end for the species.
