I was actually referring to Project Nevada, with their work on replacing VATS with Bullet Time, i should have been more clear about this. as for more powerful medicine, i thought it could be done with a simple perk, rather than a full scripted piece.....

I would do my best to come up with better suggestions, though as i am not a modder, i may not know the limitations or merits of my suggestions, but i will do my best

thanks for the answers :)

Was the bobblehead rebalance

Was the bobblehead rebalance made because combining FO3 bonuses with NV bonuses made it too easy to hit 10 in all stats and max out skills?

Yep, that's exactly the reason. Also why tons of the books were changed to magazines, Fallout 3 was literally loaded with them. They only gave 1 point in F3, but they give 3 points in NV.

Out of curiosity, why was the bobblehead rebalance made an optional mod, but the book->magazine change was part of the core mod and not optional?

Easy, cause there are 25 of each "book" in Fallout 3, that was culled down to i believe 4 of each book iirc, to match the same number of books one could find in the Mojave wasteland as well. So that neither start point either in Vault 101 or the Mojave had an obvious advantage over the other. Since TTW wont change F:NV settings ie Skill books give 3 points base, vs FO3's 1 point, the call was made to reduce to total number of books available in the wasteland to more readily match the Mojave.

Skills/SPECIAL vs "Mini Perks" is a preference issue. 25 skill books vs 4 skill books in the wasteland is a balance issue.

What Anvil said is a good argument but the thought process was slightly different. You are still finding skill books, just less of them, and by replacing them with magazines it still feels like the same basic concept.

But finding a Bobblehead that doesn't give a stat bonus would feel very different.

They are both balance issues, we went ahead with the books because the resulting aesthetic was pretty close. We didn't go ahead with Bobbleheads because it's not very close at all.

I was thinking that a good possibility for the Intelligence bobble head is to make the duration effects from the magazines last longer.

If life is but a test, where's the damn answer key?!?!?

I agree the extra skill point

I agree the extra skill point is redundant. I'll look into the magazine thing, but I'm not sure if that's possible.

How about making the bobble

How about making the bobble-head improve the increase in temporary intelligence by things like mentats?
