Praise for ToTW!

Post by Mune » Thu Oct 16, 2014 2:52 pm

I considered this feedback, so hopefully this is the right section for messages as such.

Just wanted to say thank you very much to the team who made Tale of Two Wastelands!  The idea of running both F3 and NV together in a seamless fashion is a spectacular and lofty goal, and it seems you all have pulled it off quite nicely.

A couple years ago I built myself a fancy new computer, and on it I put Win7 64-bit.  I then tried to load up my beloved Fallout 3 (heavily modded) game and quickly realized I wasn't even going to be able to play it on my new rig!  It was a huge disappointment, as playing that game on a non-crappy computer was one of the reasons I dumped a bunch of cash on a new gaming machine.

You guys have brought back that old dream of mine in a big way.  Now I can play Fallout 3 again, and in a spectacular fashion with much more stability!  You guys are awesome, thanks again for making this.  Unchecking 'Sexy' is indeed impossible.

The team is immensely pleased

The team is immensely pleased that you have been enjoying the mod, and have been able to revisit Fallout 3 in such a fashion. It is a real pleasure to read feedback like this on the forums, since this is why we do the things we do.

And the fact that the moderators/TaTW team itself replies to such forum posts (and many others) is why I wholeheartedly love this team and what you guys do.  You are computer wizards as far as I'm concerned.  Keep doing what you're doing, we all appreciate the hard work!  And for any posts you get that go "whaaaa I can't get it to work this mod is <enter expletive here>" just remember that plenty of people can indeed get it to work.  Because it does work.  All it takes is a little finesse, love and care, which it deserves.

For those who might be having trouble figuring out 'finesse, love and care', here's what I did (and it was easy).

First - Make sure it's a clean install of Fallout New Vegas and Fallout 3.

Second - Get the 4Gb exe launcher for Fallout New Vegas.  (it didn't work without it for me)

Third - Happy fun times!  You're all set.

2.7.x is actually the easiest to get to work by far. We're glad it's being enjoyed!

Well... I think I can throw my two cents in by saying that I am immensely enjoying what you guys have accomplished. I already spent well over 200 hours with one playthrough of TTW. I'm pretty sure that another 200 is on the way, with christmas break on the horizon.

I want to say my sincerest thank you to all great people on the team, who are always ready to provide advice with modding and stuff. [Statement removed] I am grateful for all the help I got in the chat. Keep up the good work.

Link Removed. Don't do that. Just... don't -- TJ

Edit: Ok. Censorship acknowledged :P

Some say I got in a knife fight with Salina Gomez.

If you searched the forums enough you'd find we've all had our bad days. Start with me, you won't even look any further. Just don't see the need in attempting to make one of the original team members look bad. Without them this wouldn't be here.

Bad days are unavoidable, and I'm sure the occasional angry reply is warranted.  No big deal though, forums are kindof a common place for that sort of thing all around but I'd consider this to be one of the friendlier forums I've come across.

I've now gotten ToTW to work with a whole slew of mods, so fun times are finally ready to commence.  Thanks again for letting me finally play Fallout 3 on my new rig!
