So I remember this mod that you find a car in the CW, and it let's you travel to other cities that are added by other mods (I think it even had map markers for The Pitt and Point Lookout).


I was thinking, port that mod to TTW, add in a few other mods that add new cities (only one I can think of is the Dog Town Denver) and let's travel the entire US!


 


EDIT: Upon using Google Maps to route a trip from DC to Vegas, there are several cities that would be possible to add: The first one is already there, Pittsburg. The next is Columbus, Ohio, followed by Indianapolis, St Louis or Kansas City, then Dog Town Denver, possibly using the mod that is already created, St George, Utah, and Finally Vegas.


Using completion of The Pitt DLC as a requirement to proceed towards New Vegas is a good start point.  Can also add in random encounters along the way.  Plus, this is most likely the route that the BoS used to get to the Capitol Wasteland in the first place, so there could be a quest that Lyons gives to reconnect to the BoS on the West Coast, thus connecting in the two wastelands!

Wow. I think that would be awesome. I've had some similar ideas about a massive quest journey to get to NV for the first time. I will say this though, it will be immensely complicated to make and would probably take some time if anyone was willing to do the work to merge them all into an overarching story/journey. 


Also I don't think that Lyons would really reconnect with the West Coast faction. I do think that he might reestablish communications with them  but i doubt he would rejoin them. I think they would be more willing to link up with the Midwest faction, there ideals are more in sync then the West Coast factions. The Outcasts on the other hand would definitely want to rejoin the West coast faction though. That right there offers many interesting possibilities depending on who you prefer.


Damn I need to work harder to relearn how to mod.

If the world spaces are already created, it wouldn't be too hard to create some sort of travel system that transfers you from place to place. It would be a massive project though to actually recreate all these areas just for a travel mod. There's a couple large worldspace mods already on the nexus that could be combined and adapted IF the authors allowed it, but I feel that they wouldn't really want all their hard work to be merged into someone's mod.

I am currently already working on something like this. I am not planing to create a journey to New Vegas with new Worldspaces and stuff, but some kind of revamp of Global Travel System. The first release can be found here:

Currently I am working on a version, that supports travel to DLC locations and also the places of TTW, such as capital wastelands, the pitt etc.
