Character Leveling Balance

Post by KL3IN3R » Sun Jun 30, 2013 3:08 am

Before I continue, I have to say that Fallout 3 and NV were probably the two most engaging games I have ever played in the last 10 years. The story was well written and the quests were intelligently designed. I was blown away by the 1950s era theme of nuclear war. For the record, I'm not much of a fan of the 1950s, which is why I was blown away by the intelligent use of 1950s era themes mixed into a post-war nuclear setting set into the future. Along with the intelligent use of post-apocalyptic themes, comes, in my opinion, the best part of the game, which is the ability to obtain powerful weapons and armor. Some people may dislike the level scaling system, but I thought it was a great way to keep the game challenging. For a while, at least, which brings me to my point- What are the developers of TTW doing to adjust the character leveling system and level scaling system to balance the fact that the player will now have twice as many opportunities to become a powerful post-apocalyptic soldier?

P.S.- Sorry about the game review!!!

JaxFirehart built an official

JaxFirehart built an official one that comes with TTW, and alot of people still seem to like my percentage based XP slasher mods as well. Personally I use Jax's, it's a bit more dynamic than the ones I made.

I couldn't agree more. I love

I couldn't agree more. I love Fallouts real world history combined with 50's funk. When I came out of the vault and saw some raiders on the overpass I squealed like a little girl. The Fallout world in 3d, oh my. The only gripe I have is with zombies, err I mean ghouls. If you are looking for less god-like main character, try Arwen's mod. http://arwenevecom.ipage.com/FalloutNV/FNV.htm it makes it more Rpg and less shooter.

By the way, I want to thank the people on this forum for not acting rude and elitist. Your kindness and generosity has truly taken me by surprise.

Take care with Arwen's stuff.

Take care with Arwen's stuff. It's good (if crying like a little baby is your thing) but it conflicts with a load of other mods. Luckily, I recall it being rather modular, so pick and choose what you like. As for level progression, I used practice makes perfect from the nexus, I suggest you check it out (might not be your thing though).

EDIT- Ummm...  PN Rebal? (Googled it and can't find it.) Is it a mod or part of a mod?
