Idea For Storyline.

I realize that currently the setup is to start as a Vault player in FO3 and then travel to FNV after you do a bunch of stuff in F03 land.   This makes sense story and timeline wise but makes no sense gameplay wise.   Would it be possible to do a "loopback" wher eyou can do a certain number of quests in the DC Wasteland and then you have to get some item or talk to someone in FNV land (Caezer or House or the BoS acquired a GECK activator key that you need to actually use the GECK in FO3 or something along those lines) so that you have to go to FNV at some point before you start seeing Enclave all over the place.


The reason I am suggesting this is as much as I love FNV even more than FO3, Caezar's Legion just isn't as serious a threat as the Enclave is/was.   It's hard to see playing a game where you activate a giant assed robot and fight hordes of Power Armored Enclave with high end energy weapons and then you go and fight a bunch of ex tribesman wearing pathwork armor and running at you with machetes and spears afterwards.   cheeky   It almost seems like its more of a vacation from the Enclave when I think about it that way.


Issues that I see would be dialogue changes to some NPCs like the former Enclave types in FNV and probably some other stuff.


My other suggestion would be to have a BoS/NCR/Jacobs Town alliance versus a Caezar's Legion/Enclave alliance.  Perhaps script a fight between Enclave Deathclaws adn the Jacobs Town supermutants and Nightkin and a big battle between Liberty Prime and some Enclave vertibirds.  That might be slightly more difficult to implement than the first suggestion though.  laugh

We've already got a plan for how to integrate the two games more seamlessly, alas it doesn't involve as much Liberty Prime, but I think it'll still be well received.

It'd be nice to have some type of, Lore Friendly. or so. type of Quest. at which you have to do in complete in order to travel to new vegas so you just wont be able to go there as soon as you want, although some might want this.


Or maybe. as mentioned in this thread. After you complete a certain amount of the story line quest. it Triggers a quest( or you meet or encounter someone or something) at which you will then have available to do the quest. in order to get to NV. i've always pondered this and it crossed my mind that infact the Great developers of TTW are working on something similar to this.


or It'd be interesting if it wasn't a Quest, tho' more along the lines of 'Hints" type of notes you come across or find,             Like those note mods. where you come across a note/s and in it/them. you are enlightened upon a location or something or event.


something like that were you'd read storys/Journals/Diarys (Which ever would be most suitable), of new vegas (either from someone who has passed in the DC Ruins Or something of that Nature tho Lore Friendtly to both story lines of both games) and in those notes or something. it can be merged as to why the Wanderer of Vault 101 Became or Took the Courier job *him finding something out about the job and then finding the train to New Vegas to take on the Task Then once your there.. bam thats how the NV starts) if you understand exactly what im getting at?


i've always thought n wished for that (im not a modder just a player who Appreciates, Respects, And Loves the work others do and am a supporter of it)

It is planned (and on the slow works) to make stops between DC and NV, where the train stops and the player has to do something to be able to continue. I don't know if I should say more than that or if the Devs want it to be a surprise. But the train stops were already mentioned on the forum by Devs in the past so I think it was ok for me to say it angel.

from what i've seen the devs have some big plans ahead and continuity is a huge concern for them. i've seen so many ideas for story lines and posted a few before i understood the depth and scope of TTW's goals. when i got here i thought the were making FO3 playable on FNV engine and giving transportation between the lands and once that was perfected they'd be done (which is an incredible goal in and of its self). i was very wrong. i dont know what the completed project is going to look like but i do know that it's going to be great (based on the great work done on union station) and that as much as possible given the current tools it will contain a cohesive story line that ties the two lands together.

Either way. this is & is going to be And Will Be One of the Greatest mods for new vegas. it is currently like that. but just imagine what thee future holds and how it'l all be once its fully done btw all great things take time and we all can be patient for we all know this is one Superb Mod and is going to be one of the Greats. currently is.. Will Continue to get better:)


also enjoy how its on it's own forum and people are free to give their ideas and inputs. im sure the Dev's already have a plan. and all these ideas and inputs further help or support their plan for it :)
