Why does three dog get quiet when talking to people but music doesn't?

I can't remember if Fallout 3 had this or not, but I have to say, it's really annoying. It's hard to hear what someone is saying with butcher pete hacking whacking and smacking in the background, even when the music is a relatively low volume and the voice volume is cranked all the way up.

This is seeming less and less like a patch solution and more like a warez distro fix.

I also have the same problem.

I also have the same problem. Not sure why it happens. I end up just turning the radio volume way low.

A fix would be great.

Yep after getting GNR running and listened to it indeed it does that wonder why that might happen, it doesnt happen with FNV radio stations. Actually for some reason I can get radio New Vegas in DC surprise and it doesn't change the song volume either, only Mr. New Vegas voice, just like Three Dog surprise.

This might seem odd, but are the voice files the same format as the songs?

I thought they were, until I remember that the music in mp3 and the voice is ogg (I might be wrong since it's from memory).

This is just a total guess,

This is just a total guess, but the game reads mp3 files differently and occasionally has problems with them. Learned that when I was researching the fix for Mysterious Broadcast.

The only fix I can think of would be to maybe change the music files to ogg, or create a new script somewhere for the mp3s. Problem is, it might just cause more issues because Fallout hates mp3s

But what do I know.
