2 Hand Rifles stuck inside character on holstering.

Ive started having a strange issue with 2 hand rifles becoming phased inside my characters back on holstering them, when wearing armor with the "Has Backpack" flag.

I haven't been able to test this with power armor yet, as i dont have PA training unlocked yet in my current playthrough, but the issue seams to be effecting all armors with the "has backpack" flag enabled.

Issue is present with just TTW installed, but is not present in vanilla FNV.
For some reason something in TTW is triggering the bug.

Wondering if there is a known cause/fix for this issue.

Edit: I will add this issue does not seam to effect low level characters, or at least the issue wasn't present on a new TTW save i started for testing purposes, it only seams to be happening for my level 43 character.
This leads me to believe something ive done over the course of the game has triggered the bug, but im at a loss as to what it could be.

I was able to temporarily fix the issue at one point by unequipping and dumping all of my items onto the ground, making a save, closing and releaching the game, and then reloading the save, but the issue reappeared again after a few minutes.

Bug is apparently caused by the quick draw perk.

Any possibility of this getting a fix in ttw?

Stewies tweaks or JIPLN is already supposed to fix this issue.

Im using both, updated to the most recent versions and this issue is rampant in my current playthrough.
I ended up having to use the console to remove the perk as i couldn't stand to look at it bugging out anymore.

Its possible the latest JIP version is to blame, as there are a lot of people reporting issues with versions after 56.80 and i myself have been getting constant ctd with anything after 56.78. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯


Id revert JIP to an older version to test if it fixes the Holster bug, but multiple of my mods now require the newer versions of jip to function so im kinda just stuck right now waiting for updates.

I figured out what was causing the problem and im updateing this post with the info incase anyone else ever has the problem:


So it appears that some kNVSE animations are buggy/improperly done and have the wrong flags set on them, which will cause this issue.
Many of the animations by januez/Johnson have this issue, but most of the ones by say Hitman or Rockbiter68 do not.

If you find that some of your weapons will begin to randomly have this issue, try checking if you have any kNVSE animations affecting the weapon, if so try swapping them out for different ones.
It doesn't matter if the reanimation your using includes third person animations or not, even first person only anims can have the issue if the wrong flag is set.


Exert from a conversation with Rockbiter that gives extra context:

"But, little bit of old NV lore: first-person animations were tied to third-person animations under the original system. It's part of the reason kNVSE was needed. You couldn't make an animation longer than a third-person animation without creating bugs, and certain text keys (particularly for equipping/unequipping) HAD to align, or you would get issues in third-person, even if the animation was just in first-person."
"It's possible Johnson forgot to add respectEndKey to his equip/unequip animations, or something like that, which could create the issue you're seeing here."


Hope that helps anyone who runs into the problem in the future.

Oh, to be clear the issue can also be present with vanilla animations, just in my particular case it was being re-introduced by the animation mods i was using.
I ended up "fixing" the issue by replacing all the offending anims with equivalents from rockbiter and Hitman.

Im still not sure what exactly causes the issue for vanilla anims, or what if any mods fixes the issue. (Short of installing Reanimation mods with the proper flags)
Ive tested the game both with stock vanilla, as well as with updated versions of LStewies Tweaks and JIP LN and the animation bug was present on all "Rifle2Hand" weapons.
