So apparently the net

Post by TrickyVein » Sun Apr 07, 2013 2:50 pm

So apparently the net framework 4.5 simply isn't supported by the windows xp OS. That seems awful unfair. Seriously, am I the only one left who still has XP running?

This would also explain the error message I am receiving.

Unless I'm missing something, it would seem that the installer requires the user to have a different OS than what is the required minimum for playing either game. This is unduly burdensome and as far as I can see, having played TTW 1.4a, unnecessary to a fault.

This is going to lose a large number of players if the ttw installer requires that you have windows 7 or higher running. Seeing as both games run on windows xp, I feel like the architecture of the installer should be made compatible.

Maybe an issue with Microsoft

Post by manos » Sun Apr 07, 2013 2:50 pm

Maybe an issue with Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 x86 Redistributable SP1 ?

Have you tried to install the full package?

Video games are bad for you? That's what they said about rock'n'roll...

The conversion pack isn't

Post by sesom » Sun Apr 07, 2013 3:22 pm

The conversion pack isn't available yet. There have to be changes made in it to reflect the bugfixes.

@TrickyVein

I am pretty sure this wasn't deliberate.

I've tried that already, no luck whatsoever.

Unsure where exactly to post

Post by alegendv1 » Sun Apr 07, 2013 4:22 pm

Unsure where exactly to post this, but here is an alternative mod to the TTW Courier Stash enabler menu: http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/46251

Basically does what it says. Integrates the armors and weapons so that they can be found on NPCs. If the NPC usually wears metal or leather armor theres a possibility that the npc will wear the Courier's Stash variant. Same with weapons. I find it works well, at least in non-TTW FNV with the DLC integration mods (those are easy to find).

Vault 13 armored jumpsuit and canteen can only be bought at Vault 21. Mod author removed the tribal raider armor seeing as it was exactly the same as the blastmaster raider armor.

Also, it seems the mod author fixed some bugs with the armors and weapons.

10MM Pistol, Reinforced: "The Professional" and is now considered an "Improved Holdout Weapon".

Grenade Rifle, Lightweight: "Demolition Expert", "Grunt" and will also ignite gas traps on hit now.

Machete, Broad: Can now have poison applied and is added to the appropriate GRA challenges.

Caravan Shotgun, Sturdy: "Shotgun Surgeon"

Metal Armor, Lightweight: "In Shining Armor" and will no longer receive the benefits from "Travel Light" and "Light Touch" perks.

"Also the caravan shotgun has a script to fix the VATS critical bug that all shotguns have."

I will test this mod out to check out compatibility with TTW, but I'm assuming it should work fine, since its a NV mod. It does require NVSE though. If others can give feedback after using this mod, that would also be helpful to others. My apologies if I posted in the wrong forum. (Also, couldn't find the font size menu after the quotation so that's why its messed up XD)

There are two folders

Post by TrickyVein » Sun Apr 07, 2013 4:59 pm

There are two folders contained in 'TTW\resources\' called 'BSA Opt' and 'BSA Opt XP.'

The installer gives you the option to check 'use xp tools' before installing. I assume this means the installer uses the 'BSAOpt x32' in the 'BSA Opt XP' folder instead of the same in the 'BSA Opt folder.'

The installer doesn't recognize any other version of the 'BSAOpt x32' executable in either folder whether I select 'use xp tools' or not. Unless I'm not being thorough enough in my understanding of your post?

I'm getting a crash after it

EDIT: Well derp. I thought I had done the FIPS thing correctly but it wasn't disabled. It seems to have installed correctly now.
