French Translation

Hi, I started a french translation, now there is a long time. Mothership Zeta is done, and I started Operation : Anchorage.

I saw a topic about a way to translate the game, but it didn't work for me.

All I do is translate the .ESMs

If someone has already a "perfect" translation without any English, please give me a link.

If not, I'll continue on my free time, but I'll need an authorization to give them to the french community.

You cannot distribute the esm's, period. It is illegal, and if you do so we'd be forced to ban you.

You need to create a patch to them instead, like trust has done for the russian translation.

TTW does not distribute them either, the installer uses the original files and patches them on the fly.

So when you have a working translation, contact a team member and we will see about getting patches made and distributed.

RoyBatty, I said I'll need an authorization for that. It was for my personal use before (it's not illegal).

All I do is change the text with FOEdit. You just have to copy/paste the .ESMs into the data directory. (That's why I needed an authorization, I wanted give them the .ESMs but they'll have to download your client)

I'll give you the .ESMs to create the patch (Mothership Zeta is done, If you want)

And I translate the .ESMs from TTW not the orinigal. (TaleofTwoWastelands.esm too)

OK, misunderstand then. We can use yours to make a patch yes. Personal use is of course completely legal.

@Nehred: You change the text with FO3/FNV-Edit one by one? If so take a look at the ESP-ESM Translator Tool on Skyrim Nexus. It could save you tons of time.

It also offers them a way to share the translation with others without having to pass the esm files.
